LSU Health and LSU Healthcare Network Make it Easy to Get Your Flu Shot

LSU Health New Orleans and LSU Healthcare Networked have teamed up to offer flu shots to LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans faculty, staff, and students again this year. While supplies last, the immunizations will be given on October 5, 6, 7 and 12, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the Employee Health Clinic, 7th Floor of the Lions Eye Center, 2020 Gravier Street.
You need to bring your LSUHSC ID, driver’s license and insurance information if you haven’t pre-registered.

There will be no out-of-pocket cost with valid insurance verification. Without insurance, there will be a $40 charge, payable by exact cash, credit card or check made payable to LSU Healthcare Network.

Annual flu vaccines are recommended for most people six months and older. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for your body to develop an immune response. In the United States, influenza season usually begins in October.

Vaccination is especially important for people at higher risk of severe influenza and their close contacts, including health care personnel and close contacts of children younger than six months.
